South of the River with Astra

Astra and I had a free Sunday morning alone so we decided to hit some of the skateparks south of the river. First stop was Mable Davis. The park has held up pretty well considering how long it has been around. It was empty with the exception of one older kid, we had the bowl to ourselves.

Mable2 Note to self, you should skate Mable Davis more.

Next up was Buda. It is just a street plaza and I don’t even really ollie, but it is still really a fun park with banks and transitions you can hit as you cruise though what is circular course.

The final spot we hit was San Marcos. It is one of our favorites. The park is nice with a small simple street section and a flow bowl that is easy for beginners and has some challenging features as well. Of course the beauty of the park is you can walk to the river from the skatepark or hit Five Mile dam on the way home. It was two cold to do either of these, so we just hit the square.
